Dale DeWitt (born January 17, 1950) is a United States politician from the U.S. State of Oklahoma. DeWitt currently serves in the Oklahoma House of Representatives as the Majority Leader, a position in he's the first to take up since it was first created in after the 2010 elections.

Early life and career

DeWitt is a native Oklahoman. He was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma, January 17, 2011. His parents are the late Ed DeWitt and Ramona DeWitt. He is married to Carol Grell, and their children are Garrett DeWitt and Camille Holt. They have four grandchildren. He got an associate's degree from Northern Oklahoma College in 1970 and a B.S. in agriculture education from Oklahoma State University in 1973. He is a farmer/rancher and a retired teacher.

Political career

DeWitt was elected in a special election in 2002. In the 2011 session, authored six bills and co-authored one along House Speaker Kris Steele and Senate President Pro Tem Brian Bingman on the subject of redistricting and was passed overwhelmingly by both houses.
